Getting Started¶
Signing In¶
- Go to your organization's webmail URL (e.g.
https://mail.example.comor the URL your administrator gave you). - Enter your email address. If you're on a custom domain, you may be able to enter just your username (the part before
@). - Enter your password.
- If your account has an authenticator app or recovery email set up, you may be prompted for a second factor.
Forced Password Change¶
If your administrator set a new password for your account and required a change on first login, you'll see a full-screen prompt to choose a new password before you can access your inbox. Enter and confirm your new password and click Update password.
MFA Required¶
If your organization requires multi-factor authentication and you haven't set it up yet, you'll see a banner or prompt when you sign in. You have a grace period (set by your admin) to enroll. Go to Settings → Security to set up an authenticator app.
The Layout¶
Vantage uses a layout similar to Microsoft Outlook.
Navigation Rail¶
The narrow blue bar on the left side has icons for each module:
| Icon | Module |
|---|---|
| Envelope | |
| Calendar | Calendar |
| People | Contacts |
| Checkmark | Tasks |
| Gear | Settings |
| Magnifier | Search (also Ctrl+K) |
Click an icon to switch to that module.
Tab Bar¶
Vantage uses a tab bar across the top of the content area, similar to a web browser. Each open message or compose window has its own tab. Tabs can be:
- Dragged to reorder them
- Closed with the × button
- Opened in parallel — you can have multiple messages and compose windows open simultaneously
Double-clicking a message in the list opens it in a new tab.
Three-Pane View (Mail)¶
When the Mail module is open, the content area is divided into three resizable panes:
| Pane | Contents |
|---|---|
| Folder pane (left) | Mail folders, tags, saved searches |
| Message list (center) | Messages in the selected folder |
| Reading pane (right or bottom) | Preview of the selected message |
You can drag the dividers between panes to resize them. The reading pane can be moved to the bottom or hidden entirely in Settings → Mail → Reading.
Keyboard Shortcuts¶
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| N | Compose a new message |
| R | Reply to the selected message |
| Shift+R | Reply All |
| F | Forward the selected message |
| Delete | Delete the selected message |
| Ctrl+K | Open the global search |
| Ctrl+Enter | Send the current message (in compose) |
Signing Out¶
Click the Settings icon (gear) in the navigation rail and find the Sign out option, or use your browser's session management. Your session expires automatically after a period of inactivity.
