Settings¶
The Settings page contains organization-wide configuration. Changes here affect all mailboxes in your account unless a setting is overridden at the mailbox level.
Mailbox Defaults¶
Controls the default storage quota and catch-all behavior for your account.
Default Quota¶
The storage limit applied to new mailboxes when no specific quota is set. Entered in MB (e.g. 5120 for 5 GB). Leave blank to use the platform default.
You can override this per-mailbox on the Mailboxes page.
Catch-All Mailbox¶
When a catch-all mailbox is set, any email addressed to an unrecognized address on your domain (one that does not match any mailbox, distribution list, or alias) is delivered to this mailbox instead of being bounced.
Select the mailbox from the dropdown, or choose Disabled to bounce unrecognized addresses.
Tip
The catch-all mailbox must exist before you can select it. Create the mailbox on the Mailboxes page first.
Spam Filtering¶
Adjusts how aggressively the spam filter operates for your organization.
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Low | Fewer false positives; some spam may get through |
| Medium | Balanced (recommended for most organizations) |
| High | Aggressive filtering; catches more borderline messages, but may occasionally flag legitimate email |
Spam messages that are rejected or quarantined appear in the Mail Log with a spam status if Show spam in Mail Log is enabled (see below).
Notifications¶
Admin Notification Email¶
An external email address that receives system alerts about failed deliveries, security events, and other important platform issues. Should be monitored regularly.
Quota Warning Threshold¶
When a mailbox reaches this percentage of its storage quota, a warning notification is sent to the admin notification address. Enter a value between 1 and 100 (e.g. 90 for a warning at 90% full).
Custom Domains¶
Management Portal Hostname¶
By default, you access the Tenant Admin portal at the Zylatech-hosted address. You can configure a custom hostname (e.g. manage.example.com) so administrators reach it at a URL on your own domain.
To set up a custom management hostname:
- Create a DNS A record pointing the hostname to the Vantage server's IP address.
- Enter the hostname in the Management Portal Hostname field and click Save changes.
- Click Provision SSL to obtain a Let's Encrypt certificate. The DNS A record must already be pointing to the server.
Once SSL is active, the management portal is accessible at the custom hostname. The original Zylatech-hosted URL continues to work.
Note
Webmail hostnames are configured per-domain, not here. Go to Domains → Edit to set a custom webmail URL for each of your email domains.
User Defaults (Class of Service)¶
These settings control the default experience in webmail for all users in your organization. Each setting has an optional Lock toggle — when locked, users cannot change that preference in their own webmail settings.
| Setting | Options | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Default compose format | Rich text (HTML) / Plain text | Format used when users compose new messages |
| Reading pane position | Right / Bottom / Off | Default layout of the message reading pane |
| Default time zone | IANA identifier (e.g. America/New_York) |
Time zone used for dates and times in webmail |
| Default calendar view | Week / Day / Month / Agenda | Starting view when users open the Calendar |
| Default email signature | HTML | Signature applied to new mailboxes; enter raw HTML |
Settings that are locked show a padlock icon in the user's webmail settings and cannot be changed by the user.
Mail Log¶
Show Spam in Mail Log¶
When enabled, messages blocked by the spam filter appear in the Mail Log with a spam status. When disabled, spam-blocked messages are silently excluded from the log.
Turn this on if you need to audit what the spam filter is catching or investigate potential false positives.
Features¶
Enable or disable optional modules for your entire organization. Disabling a module hides it from the webmail navigation for all users.
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Calendar | The Calendar module for scheduling events, meetings, and CalDAV sync |
| Tasks | The Tasks module for creating, assigning, and tracking work items |
| Contacts | The People & Contacts module and contact book management |
| Global Address List — show all domains | When on, users see mailboxes from all your domains in autocomplete and the GAL; when off, each user only sees mailboxes on their own domain |
